Our June Meeting,

We will be meeting at the Montgomery County Republican Party Headquarters:

We will start as usual at 9:45 am, with the business meeting to start at 10:00.  Breakfast will not be served but there will be a coffee bar and donuts.

Karel Lea Biggs

Our own Karel Lea Biggs will be sharing with us the story of American Icon Mary Kay Ash, the founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics which celebrates 60 years of business this year.  In addition, she’ll share how the Mary Kay Ash Foundation has raised millions for research into women’s health and for sheltering women in crises.

Karel Lea was one of the original RRRW members when it was founded in a teacher lunchroom after Obama became president.  Over the years she has served as our President and Vice President of Membership and has been the newsletter editor since our club’s inception.  She grew up in a home where her mother was active in Republican politics (and still is) and registered to vote on her 18^th birthday, casting her first Presidential vote for Ronald Reagan. 

A graduate of Cal Poly Pomona, Wright State University, and Cumberland University, she has worked in both the corporate world and education.  She still works as a middle school teacher and since 2020 has been an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay, rising to the level of Red Jacket  (top 5% of the company) and Star Team Builder.  Beginning her business during the pandemic, she has navigated both the in person and virtual business models with the goal of helping women feel better about themselves and having a positive outlook on life.
