• The Wonderland Café is at the same physical location as The Looking Glass but under new management and ownership. They haven’t put up a new sign yet, so you’ll still see “Looking Glass” on the front.
• We’ve had a slight change to the time – it’s now 9:45.
• You need to RSVP by TUESDAY if you want coffee/tea, fruit and pastries for $5.  There will be a table set up in the room where you can pay for this instead of having to go to the cash register.
• If you don’t want the above, you can order off the menu when you get there.

Our speaker will be State Senate 22 Candidate Doug Englen

Doug Englen retired from the United States Army after 33 years of service as a Chief Warrant Officer 5 (CW5). Serving at the highest level in the Pentagon, Doug was the Senior Warrant Officer Advisor to the Secretary of the Army. He is one of the most decorated aviators in U.S. Army history during the global war on terror, and a legend in the Joint Special Operations community. 

In 1990, Doug deployed to Turkey for Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Upon his return, he made the decision to follow his dream of becoming an Army Aviator, graduating Warrant Officer Basic Course and Flight School in 1994. After completing the CH-47 Chinook Aircraft Qualification Course, Englen was assigned to Camp Humphreys, South Korea followed by three tours in Bosnia/Kosovo while stationed in Germany. 

In 1998, Doug assessed and was selected into the elite 160^th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR). Known as the Nightstalkers, 160^th SOAR is the world’s precision rotary-wing airlift support to Special Operations Forces, including Army Rangers, Special Forces, Navy SEALs, and Marine Corps Special Operators. He and Tina moved with their four children to Fort Campbell to begin this new adventure. 

During his time with SOAR, Doug logged more than 7000 hours of flight time where he flew more than 2500 combat missions. Doug possesses a keen intellect, and extraordinary competence and leadership. As a result, he was selected to fly in nearly every high-profile Special Operations mission in the Global War on Terror.

Doug has been awarded numerous medals for heroism and valor, including two Silver Star medals, two Legions of Merit, three Distinguished Flying Crosses, two Bronze Stars, and two Meritorious Service Medals. He also earned a degree in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Doug is a loving husband, supportive father, and now a doting grandfather. He and Tina have been happily married for 31 years and they have four children together: Christopher, Alexandria, Catheryn, and Elizabeth. They also have two grandchildren, Carter and Reagan, with one more on the way.

Recently, Doug announced his candidacy for Tennessee State Senate, District 22, where he will continue to demonstrate his commitment to leadership through service.
